PL Integrated Math I          MA309P
SDAIE Integrated Math I    MA309S

This course is designed to develop a student’s understanding of symbolic reasoning.  Algebraic skills and concepts are developed in a wide variety of problems solving situations.  This course meets the content standards for Algebra as required for graduation and CSU and UC admission.

Integrated Math I Support   MA 332  Grade 9  Year
Prerequisite:  unsuccessful completion of 8th grade Algebra I.  Co-Course:  Integrated Math I.
This course covers basic algebra skills and concepts in support of regular Integrated Math I for 9th grade students.  The class is developed to give students the support needed to be successful in Integrated Math I.

Math Intervention   MA 326  Grades 10-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Unsuccessful completion of 9th grade Integrated Math I.  Co-Course:  Integrated Math I.
This course covers basic algebra skills and concepts in support of regular Integrated Math I. The class is developed to give students the support needed to be successful in Integrated Math I.

Geometry     MA318  Grades 9-12  Year
SDAIE Geometry      MA318S

Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Integrated Math l with a “C-“or better.
This course deals with the relationships, properties and measurements of solids, surfaces, lines and angles.  This course meets the content standards for Geometry as required for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

Honors Geometry     MA318H Grades 9-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Integrated Math I with a “B” or better and recommendation of the Department Chair or teacher.
This course covers and extends the same objectives taught in Geometry.  Research and technology will be required.  This course meets the content standards for Geometry as required for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

Algebra II    MA312  Grades 9-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Geometry with a “C-“ or better.
This course complements and extends the mathematical content and concepts taught in Integrated Math I and Geometry.  This course meets the content standards for Algebra II as required for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

Honors Algebra II        MA312H Grades 10-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Geometry with a ”B” or better.  All students are required to fill out an application along with the teacher recommendation before consideration.
This course covers and extends the same objectives taught in Algebra II.  This course meets the content standards for Algebra II as required for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

Pre-Calculus              MA322  Grades 11-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Algebra II with a “C-“ or better.
This course emphasizes trigonometry, probability, functions, and college algebra.  This course meets the content standards for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

Honors Pre-Calculus   MA322H Grades  11-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Algebra II with a “B” or better.  All students are required to fill out an application along with the teacher recommendation before consideration.
This course is similar to Pre Calculus but ideas are more in depth and the pace is faster.  This course meets the content standards for graduation and CSU and UC admissions.

AP Calculus    MA323H Grades 11-12  Year
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Pre-Calculus with a “B“ or better.  All students are required to fill out an application along with the teacher recommendation before consideration.
Properties of functions, limits, differentiation and integration are all introduced and applied. Students who take this course are strongly advised to take the College Board AP Calculus exam at an approximate cost of $89.00.  For students eligible for fee waiver the cost of the test is $5.00.

AP Statistics    MA325H Grade 12  Year
Prerequisite:  Senior level class that requires the successful completion of at least Algebra II with a “C” or better. All students are required to fill out an application along with the teacher recommendation before consideration.
This course is designed to prepare students by exploring data with graphs and numbers, producing data by designing samples, experiments, and simulations, anticipating patterns by using the concept of probability, and statistical inference, where students make conclusions about parameters of interest.  Students who take this course are strongly advised to take the College Board AP Statistics exam at an approximate cost of $89.00.  For students eligible for fee waiver the cost of the test is $5.00.

CAHSEE Math    ND910  Grades 11-12  Semester
All students in California must pass the High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in order to receive a high school diploma.  This course is designated to assist students who have not passed the CAHSEE Math test.  The course emphasizes test taking skills and concentrates on solving problems similar to those on the California High School Exit Exam.  A student may earn math credit for only one semester and elective credit for the other semester if the student is in two semesters.
